Explore “The Stacks”

7 Oct

The Stacks Link

As we build our classroom library and learn about different book genres, lets look at books we may want to include. “The Stacks” is all things kid books. Your mission for today is to preview at least two books from each genre. Choose one that you would be interested in reading and include at least 1 reason this book is of interest to you. Record this in your Reading Journal with the heading “The Stacks Book Preview”. Below that identify each genre with a colored heading and record your book choice.
Here is an example:

Fantasy
Inkheart by Cornelia Funke

I’ve not read much fantasy but I love to use my imagination so I’d like to read more.  The plot of Inkheart is fiction story that becomes real.  It reminds me of one of my favorite movies growing up, The Never Ending Story.  I loved how the world between fiction and nonfiction was always blurring.  I love to use my imagination.  I get excited thinking about fantasy worlds where anything can happen.  I think I could get lost in Inkheart and would absolutely enjoy it.

When you complete your mission you may browse other aspects of The Stacks. Please wait to explore the games section until you’re at home. Enjoy!
